Updating the Conservation Status of Nepal’s Avian Fauna
Nepal is a global biodiversity powerhouse, home to over 8% of the world’s bird species. However, it has been a decade since the landmark 2016 National Bird Red Data Book—which identified 168 species as nationally threatened—was published.
To bridge this ten-year data gap, the Nepalese Ornithological Union (NOU), in collaboration with national and international partners, is hosting a critical expert consultation to redefine the future of bird conservation in Nepal.
